The Financial Management Unit derives its mandate from the GEDA strategic priority:
“Efficient and Effective management of GEDA”

This priority maintains GEDA’s accountability to the Department of Economic Development (DED), Gauteng Provincial Government, the Board and its committees as appointed by the Executive Authority of DED.

The priority also, ensures that GEDA complies with all reporting requirements, corporate governance, certain public service requirements, PFMA and other regulations of government while also affording GEDA an opportunity to operate as a Section 21 company.

The CFO Unit also has the responsibility to implement the BBBEE strategy for the Gauteng Province relating to procurement. In responding to this we are required to comply with the following regulations

s217 of the Constitution of South Africa – which requires a procurement system that is fair, equitable, transparent competitive and cost effective
The Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) Act – which must be taken cognisance of by government and businesses
The Preferential Procurement Policy Framework (PPPF) Act - which institutes preferential point system for procurement policies

You are therefore invited to register on our Supplier database to ensure compliance with relevant legislation regarding procurement.
